Satsuma Shiranami is one of Japan's best-loved imo (sweet potato) shochu, produced by Satsuma Shuzo in Makurazaki, Kagoshima, using 100% top-grade Kogane Sengan sweet potato. It's full-bodied and richly aromatic, with an earthy, roasted sweet potato character, a touch of spice, and a luscious natural sweetness that gives way to a warm, crisp, dry finish. A true classic of the genre, Shiranami is best enjoyed on the rocks or oyu-wari (with hot water) to bring out its rounded, robust flavour. 25% ABV, 900ml.
