Tatenokawa Sake Brewery was founded in 1872. Over the years, the company has used local products, water and rice to produce sake. While maintaining the traditions that have been in place since the company's founding, it has also adopted modern techniques to provide sake of consistent quality.
Since 2010, all sake produced has been limited to junmai daiginjo only, making it the first ‘all junmai daiginjo’ brewery in the ginjo kingdom of Yamagata Prefecture.
