The Harushika Story

The Gods Rode on Deer.
The Sake Followed.

In Japan's ancient capital, deer are said to descend with the gods. Here, sacred water runs long and clear beneath the forests of Kasugayama.

Founded in Naramachi in 1884, Harushika carries forward Nanto Morohaku—the brewing tradition that helped define modern sake.

Its name joins haru, from Kasuga, with shika, the sacred deer.
